Chapter 3 has been substantially revised as follows: ● Pre-consent reviews for children ages 0-17 who have been prescribed two or more psychotropic medications ● Psychiatric Nurses as defined in s. 394.455, F.S., can prescribe children under the age of 18 psychotropic medication and complete form CF-FSP-5339, Medical Report for Prescribing Psychotropic Medications to a child in Out-of-Home Care. ● All caregivers responsible for administering psychotropic medication must be trained by the CBC or its contracted provider on the components specified in subsection (2) of Rule 65C-35.014, F.A.C., within 30 calendar days of the child’s placement into the caregiver’s home. ● Prior to assuming responsibility for a child who is prescribed psychotropic medications, child protective investigators, sheriff offices conducting child protective investigations, and case managers must complete required trainings for children in out-of-home care.
